The ReConnect China project aims to support a more nuanced and up-to-date understanding of current political developments in China. For this purpose, an interactive and state-of-the-art repository was developed under the guidance of the University of Vienna to analyse the policies, regulations, legal acts, government narratives and public discourses.
The Reconnect China database utilises a broad set of reliable sources through state-of-the-art algorithms, seamlessly captured through an interactive web interface. This allows users to check political developments and study how narratives, discourses and policies influence each other. Our topics also cover information on social unrest, citizen complaints to the government and official responses to public complaints. The geographical scope enables users to trace political developments not only in Beijing, but also in China’s provinces, municipalities and counties.
The ReConnect China data repository is available here.
